Like climbing, the more you use an attack, the better it becomes, increasing hit chance for instance. Some enemies are weak, to one of the attack types. Where each round Roehm can attack in different ways (I played as a thief to start with) so he could thrust, slice, swipe and block. This is true for the actions in battles, too.īattles in Quest for Infamy use a turn based battle system. The higher the rating, will allow Roehm to climb over different walls and scale some trees. Quest for Infamy is not just a point-and-click adventure, there is also a simple level up system and battle system.įor leveling up, it goes back to the old the more you use an action, the more it improves. Giving the player this choice leads to replayability, and a few different scenarios to play though. Each one impacting the story and how Roehm will progress. Not long into the game, Roehm will need to pick a job type between warrior, mage and thief. As he is a rogue, Roehm can sneak past people and other bad things. Movement differs from most point-and-click adventures as he can, walk, run or sneak. Roehm has the standard interactions, use, talk, fight and move. Select an action then click on the highlighted objects. In terms of gameplay, Quest for Infamy is, for the most part, simple. There are not too many games that can be daft, weird, serious, weird and keep a player invested. However, this leads him to become an antihero in the process. Of course, Roehm is interested in retrieving this jewel. When he arrives, there are several strange events happening, one being the death of a family member by a cursed jewel. This plays just nicely for Roehm and his timing at Volkville. He has almost no morals and respect for anything. With an intro like that, you know what you’re in for.Īs you can guess, Roehm is no hero. He has to flee to Volkville after narrowly escaping from one angry Baron, after he found him in bed with his daughter. You take control of the ladies’ man and rouge Roehm (who has the worst Scottish accent I have heard and I live there). Here we have a Quest for Infamy, a retro styled fantasy adventure.
I know I have said this many times, but 80s and 90s point-and-click adventures were some of the best games around.
